Jan Lennart Myhlback is a Swedish civil servant born on January 13, 1945, in Kristinehamn. He earned his licentiate degree in philosophy in 1971 and worked at Göteborg University from 1968 to 1970. Over his career, he held various positions in government departments, including Secretary of the Justice Department and Director General of the newly established National Rescue Service. He served as a regional administrator for the UN in Kosovo and observed elections under the Council of Europe. He became a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of War Sciences in 1989.
