Leif-Erik Nygårds was a Swedish photographer born on December 16, 1939, in Stockholm and died on July 21, 2022, in Lidingö. He grew up in Töcksfors and traveled the world capturing portraits of famous individuals, including Muhammad Ali, Woody Allen, and Angelina Jolie. He worked as an assistant to Irving Penn in New York and took some of the last professional photographs of Marilyn Monroe. Nygårds also engaged in nature photography and is buried at Lidingö Cemetery.
