Laurence Frederick McGinty MBE was an Australian politician who served as the member for Willoughby in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1968 to 1978, first with the Liberal Party and then as an Independent. He held the position of Minister for Housing and Co-operative Societies from 1973 to 1976. Born in Orange and educated at notable institutions, McGinty worked in taxation and law before entering local politics. He was Mayor of Willoughby from 1960 to 1967 and later attempted re-election as an Independent after leaving the Liberal Party.
