Laura Worley Novey, born August 26, 1969, is a former Virginia Secretary of Education, serving from 2011 to 2013 under Governor Bob McDonnell. She previously worked at Virginia Tech as the director of state government relations and was appointed as Deputy Secretary of Education in 2010. Following the resignation of Gerard Robinson, Laura was elevated to Secretary of Education. She left her role in 2013 to take a new position at the University of Virginia.
