Lau Højen, born on July 20, 1980, in Aarhus, is a Danish guitarist and lead singer of the band Carpark North. He attended Mellerup Efterskole alongside fellow band member Søren Balsner. Højen studied at the Jutland Music Conservatory from 2001 to 2003 but did not complete his education. Remarkably, on his birthday in 2013, he became a father to a little girl while performing at the Grøn Koncert in Aarhus.
