He is best known as the former guitarist for the Norwegian rock band Høst from 1973 to 1975. Nilsen released his only solo album, So Many Times, in 1994 under the artist name Half Moon. He has also been part of several bands, including Bazar, 2nd Evolution, Feldson Association, and Memphis Underground.
