Lance Jeffrey Rips is an accomplished American psychologist and professor at Northwestern University. His career began at the University of Chicago, where he taught for nineteen years before moving to Northwestern in 1994. Rips' research interests include human memory and deductive reasoning. He has received prestigious fellowships, including a Fulbright Fellowship in 2004 and 2005, and a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2008. Rips is also recognized as a fellow of several prominent organizations, such as the Cognitive Science Society and the American Psychological Association.
