Eugene Lamont Johnson, commonly known as Lamont Johnson, born on April 20, 1955, is an acclaimed American musician recognized for his work as the lead singer of 'This Must Be Heaven' and as an electric fretless bassist in the R&B band Brainstorm. He was the first internationally recognized electric fretless bassist in R&B music during the mid-1970s. After leaving Brainstorm in 1978, he produced two solo albums and collaborated with the disco group Niteflyte. Besides performing, he is also a well-regarded bass instructor in the Detroit area.
