Ladislav Mikeš Pařízek, known by the pseudonym L.M.Pařízek, was a Czech traveler, adventurer, and writer born on November 19, 1907, in České Budějovice. He gained significant recognition for his travelogues from Africa, particularly for discovering and documenting the sources of the Niger River on May 21, 1959, alongside cameraman Lubomír Mikula, making him the first person to do so. Pařízek passed away on March 28, 1988, in Prague.
