L. N. Hardas, also known as Babu Hardas, was an influential Indian Dalit leader, politician, and social reformer born on January 6, 1904. He was a close follower of B. R. Ambedkar and played a significant role in popularizing the greeting 'Jai Bhim' among Dalits. Additionally, he served as a prominent labour leader in the Central Province and became the general secretary of the Independent Labour Party there. In 1937, Hardas made history as the first Member of the Legislative Assembly elected from the Nagpur Kamptee constituency.
