Kristiina Ihamuotila, born on February 7, 1939, in Helsinki, is a Finnish textile artist known for her rugs and church textiles, as well as other works for public spaces. She graduated from Tyttönormaalilyseo in Helsinki in 1959 and studied at Helsinki's Craft Teacher Training Institute and with Kreeta Pohjanheimo in the 1960s. Later, she studied fabric printing at Cornell University in New York and also held teaching positions there. Her husband is Risto Ihamuotila, a former rector of the University of Helsinki, and their son is Mika Ihamuotila, CEO of Marimekko.
