Krasimir Velchev is a co-chair of the parliamentary group of the GERB party in the 41st National Assembly of Bulgaria. He was elected as a majoritarian deputy from the 25th multi-member electoral district of Sofia City. He is an engineer by education, specializing in Production Automation, and is a businessman. Velchev became acquainted with Boyko Borisov in 1998 on tennis courts and was invited to serve as Deputy Mayor of Sofia in 2005, an offer he declined.
