Kotogahama Sadao was a renowned sumo wrestler from Kanonji, Japan, who achieved the rank of ōzeki in 1958. He was notable for being a five-time tournament runner-up in the makuuchi division and earned seven kinboshi for defeating yokozuna while ranked as a maegashira. After retiring in 1962, he contributed to sumo as a coach at Sadogatake stable and declined to become the stablemaster in 1974, choosing to serve as an assistant coach until his passing in 1981.
