Korkees Awad (1908-1992) was an Iraqi linguist, researcher, and writer recognized as a prominent figure in Baghdad. Born into the Christian Al-Awad family from Mosul, he later settled in Baghdad. His brother, Mikhail Awad, served as a secretary to the Minister of Education during the monarchy. Korkees became known for his diligent work and extensive knowledge, authoring numerous articles and books. He was also noted for his good character and high moral standards, contributing significantly to Iraqi culture and literature.
