Klaus Kilian (February 27, 1939 - May 28, 1992) was a renowned German historian and archaeologist. He directed the department of general and comparative archaeology at the German Archaeological Institute in Bonn. From 1976 to 1982, he led archaeological work in Tiryns and from 1987 collaborated in Sri Lanka on the UNESCO-Sri Lanka project, focusing on sites such as Ibbankatuwa and the monastic complex of Pidurangala near Sigiriya. He also published research on Italian and Greek archaeology.
