Kirsten Holst was a Danish author born on March 18, 1936, in Lemvig and passed away on September 22, 2008, in Vejle. She was the daughter of police chief Palle Høybye and music teacher Anne-Margrethe Thomsen. She was married to Knud Holst and was the mother of author Hanne-Vibeke Holst. Among her best-known works is 'Min ven Thomas', which has been read in Danish schools for many years. Holst is interred at Nørresundby Cemetery.
