Professor Mapalagama Liyanage Neville Kingsley Pierre De Silva was a prominent Sri Lankan obstetrician and gynaecologist. He held significant roles, including president of the Sri Lanka College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists from 1985 to 1987, and served as Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital. He was also a senior lecturer at the University of Colombo and later became a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Peradeniya. The University has established an award in his name for excellence in these fields.
