Kim Su-haeng (1942-2015) was a prominent South Korean progressive economist and a leading Marxist scholar. He was noted for being the first to translate Karl Marx's 'Capital' into Korean after the democratization of South Korea. He served as an associate professor at Hanshin University and later became a professor at Seoul National University. After retiring in 2008, he was appointed a distinguished professor at Sungkonghoe University. Kim passed away at the age of 74 due to heart failure on July 31, 2015.
