Kim Heungsou was a prominent Korean painter, born on November 17, 1919, and often referred to as the 'Picasso of Korea' due to his influential style. His work has been recognized nationally and he left a significant mark on the art world. He passed away on June 9, 2014. Kim's partner, Jang Soo Hyun, who was also the executive curator of the Kim Heungsou museum, died from ovarian cancer in November 2012.
