Kim Haksu was a prominent Go player from South Korea, born on March 29, 1939, in Daejeon. He became a professional Go player in 1960 and achieved notable milestones including reaching the finals of the National Championship in 1967 and the Youth Championship in 1968. Throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s, he participated in several major tournaments. He was promoted to 5 dan in 1995 and served as a director at the Korea Baduk Association. Kim retired from professional play in November 2014.
