Kim Dong-ho is a Korean cultural and film personality. After serving various roles in the Korean Ministry of Culture and Information, he chaired the Pusan International Film Festival from 1996 to 2010. He was born on August 6, 1937 in Gangwon Province. He graduated from Seoul National University with a law degree in 1961. He is also the honorary president of the Pusan International Film Festival and a professor at Dankook University in Yongin. He is also the president of the Kangwon Art and Culture Foundation. He has dedicated his career to Asian cinema and has helped to establish international cultural exchanges between Asian countries and the rest of the world. He is also a co-founder of the NETPAC (Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema). He has chaired or been a member of the jury of many prestigious international film festivals such as Cannes, Rotterdam, Fukuoka, Las Palmas, Seattle and Zerkalo. He was knighted and then made an Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters in 2007 by the French government. In 2011, at the 17th FICA in Vesoul, he received an honorary Cyclo d'or for his work in promoting Asian cinema.
