He has worked for various media outlets, including Månedsbladet Press, Ekstra Bladet, TV 2 Nyhederne, and Dagbladet Information, where he served as a correspondent in the Middle East. Since 1998, he has been with DR, progressing from editor to news manager and serving as DR's correspondent in the USA. Lassen also hosted the foreign magazines and has been a presenter on TV Avisen since 2007. In 2016, he announced his new role as a correspondent in London.
