Khurshid Ahmad (3 January 1924 - 11 March 1988) was the private secretary of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the first Governor-General of Pakistan. Jinnah sent him to Jammu and Kashmir in October 1947, shortly before the Indo-Pakistani War, where he was arrested and imprisoned by Indian forces in Srinagar, later released in a prisoner exchange. He was the first elected president of Azad Kashmir and the founder of its first constitution. He is remembered by the Kashmiri public as a symbol of integrity and democracy.
