Khayal Amrohvi, born Syed Ali Mehdi Naqvi, was a prominent Pakistani poet, writer, and educationist. Born on December 10, 1930, in Deccan, India, he migrated to Pakistan after its creation, eventually settling in Lahore. He earned a Ph.D. in Persian from Tehran University and authored 25 books on literature and philosophy, including four poetry collections. His notable works include the poetry volume 'Maqtal-e-Jan' and prose books on socialism. Amrohvi had a significant impact on progressive Urdu literature before passing away in Layyah on May 14, 2009, at the age of 79.
