Kenneth Albert Newing was an Anglican bishop who served as the Bishop of Plymouth from 1982 to 1988. Born on 29 August 1923, he was educated at Dover Grammar School for Boys and Selwyn College, Cambridge. After his ordination in 1955, he held various positions including Rector of Plympton St Maurice and Archdeacon of Plymouth. Consecrated as a bishop in 1982, he later joined the Anglican Benedictine community at Elmore Abbey after his resignation. Newing passed away on 15 May 2019 at the age of 95.
