Kenji Kōhashi was a Japanese haiku poet and literary critic born on March 17, 1908, in Osaka City. He dropped out from the religious studies department at Tokyo Imperial University. Kōhashi married Yatsuo, the daughter of prominent poets Katsu and Akiko Yosano, in 1940. During World War II, he worked for the Japan Travel Bureau and later engaged in publishing. He emerged as a haiku critic in 1938 with his work 'Modern Haiku Writers' and was involved in several haiku journals. He distanced himself from the haiku community after 1965. His death date is unknown.
