He served as the mayor of Wakayama City and was the son of former Wakayama Prefecture governor Masao Ōhashi. His cousin, Hiroko Hara, was an emeritus professor at Ochanomizu University. Ken'ichi passed away on November 8, 2022. Notably, his name 'Ken'ichi' was a result of a misspelling.
