Ken Slater (27 December 1917 – 16 February 2008) was a British science fiction fan and bookseller known for founding Operation Fantast in 1947, a book exchange organization that connected science fiction fans and facilitated the import of American science fiction literature to post-war Europe. By 1950, Operation Fantast had about 800 members. After the organization's dissolution in the early 1950s, Slater continued in the field by establishing Fantast (Medway), and co-founded the British Science Fiction Association in 1958. He was also a guest of honor at several conventions.
