Kenneth Douglas Schofield, born on February 3, 1946, was the executive director of the European Tour from 1975 to 2004. Under his leadership, the tour expanded significantly, growing from 17 to 45 events globally and introducing the Challenge Tour and European Seniors Tour. He was appointed CBE in the 1996 Birthday Honours and received the Ambassador of Golf Award in 2006. Schofield was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2013 and was involved in soccer and cricket, notably chairing a committee for the ECB in 2007.
