Takeshi Sakamoto is a Japanese politician and member of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). He has served as a member of the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly and as mayor of the Itabashi special district. Sakamoto, born on December 24, 1959, graduated from Nihon University in 1978 and obtained a master's degree in architectural engineering in 1985. He worked at Nihon Sekkei until 2005, when he was elected to the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly, serving for two years before being elected mayor of Itabashi in 2007.
