He holds a professorship at the Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film, Television, & New Media and has been actively teaching in the U.S. and Canada since 1968. Dancyger has served as president of the University Film and Video Association and authored a notable 2002 book analyzing the contrasts between screwball comedy and film noir. He also contributed as a historical consultant for the documentary 'The Cutting Edge: The Magic of Movie Editing' in 2004.
