Keiichirō Ishino (1909-1990) was a Japanese writer known for his works that portray the Okinawa War. Born in Okinawa Prefecture, his real name was Asakazu Ishino. He initially used the name Takayasu Asakazu before changing it. His notable work 'Himeyuri no Tō' has been adapted into a play and a film. He also wrote 'Okinawa no Min', inspired by the Tsushima Maru incident, and 'Zanpa Misaki no Kettō'. Ishino was a candidate for the prestigious Naoki Prize.
