Kees van Moorsel was a Dutch ceramic artist born on January 3, 1916, in Delft and passed away on May 24, 1981, in Rhenen. He studied at the Rijksakademie of Fine Arts in Amsterdam. Van Moorsel took over a pottery shop in 1941 and produced earthenware until 1951. By 1953, he was creating pottery at another workshop. His work is characterized by stylized depictions of animals and humans in black and white. Today, his pieces are collected and often appear at auctions.
