Kazuaki Okazaki was a Japanese convicted murderer, known for his involvement in the doomsday cult Aum Shinrikyo. He co-perpetrated the Sakamoto family murder in 1989 and was later involved in another murder. Following the Tokyo subway sarin attack, he turned himself in to police. Okazaki was tried and sentenced to death, pleading for clemency, which was denied multiple times before his execution in July 2018.
