Catherine Vera Friedman, known as Kathy Goldman, was an influential American activist who dedicated her life to alleviating hunger and poverty. She founded the Community Food Resource Center, which provided essential food services to low-income residents in New York City. Beginning her work in 1965, she served as the executive director of the center until 2003. Kathy made a lasting impact on her community and became a leading figure in the fight against food insecurity. She passed away in Brooklyn on March 5, 2024, at the age of 92.
