Karsten Meyer was a German regatta sailor born on November 5, 1937, in Hannover. He competed for West Germany and was a member of the Schaumburg-Lippische Segel-Verein Steinhude. Meyer participated in the 1960, 1964, and 1968 Olympics, achieving notable placements including seventh and sixth. In 1972, he won the world championship as a crew member and earned a bronze medal at the Munich Olympics. Later, he transitioned to the Soling class, becoming a national champion in 1976 and finishing sixth at the 1976 Olympic regatta.
