Karel Theys is a Belgian bassist born on July 7, 1959, who gained fame with the group The Employees. He later played for Clouseau but was compelled to leave on March 18, 1991, although he continued to feature with the band for a while. His experiences inspired Bart Peeters to write a tribute song 'Karel' for a children's album. Afterward, he collaborated with former Employee guitarist Kloot Per W in De Lama's and Kloot Per W's solo work. Additionally, he occasionally played on records of other artists while focusing on his translation agency.
