Karel Šilink was a Czech physician and endocrinologist, born on August 24, 1908, in Skřivany, near Nový Bydžov, and he passed away on June 23, 1973, in Prague. He served as a professor at Charles University in Prague and was the founder of the Research Institute of Endocrinology, later known as the Endocrinological Institute. Šilink is regarded as one of the leading figures in the early development of Czech endocrinology.
