Kåre Aalberg is a Norwegian politician and educator, born on May 9, 1951. He served as the mayor of Namsos municipality from 2003 to 2007, representing the Socialist Left Party (SV). Aalberg's election marked the end of a 60-year period with Labour Party mayors in the area. He was also a member of SV's central board from 2009 to 2011. Prior to his political career, Aalberg worked as a teacher and principal at Sørenget school in Namsos. He is the son of Knut Aalberg, a former social security chief and deputy mayor in Levanger.
