Kanwal Naseer was a prominent Pakistani journalist and television presenter who made history as the first female news anchor in Pakistan. Her television career began on November 26, 1964, although she had first appeared in the media at the young age of 6 or 7 on radio. With nearly 50 years of service at Pakistan Television, she was awarded the Pride of Performance Award in 2015. Kanwal passed away on March 25, 2021, in Islamabad, Pakistan, after a brief illness. Prior to her death, she was working on FM radio.
