Kaare Høeg is a Norwegian engineer born in 1938 in Drammen. He earned his doctoral degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1965. Høeg served as a professor at Stanford University from 1968 to 1974 and was the director-general of the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute from 1974 to 1991. Following this, he became a professor at the University of Oslo until his retirement. In 1993, he was elected to the National Academy of Engineering for his influential work related to oil production platforms in deep water.
