Julian Gloag was an English novelist and screenwriter, born on 2 July 1930 in London and passed away on 12 September 2023. He authored eleven novels, with the most notable being 'Our Mother’s House' (1963), which inspired a film featuring Dirk Bogarde. Gloag studied at Magdalene College, Cambridge, later emigrating to the United States and then settling in France. While his literary reputation has waned in Britain, he enjoys enduring popularity in France, where much of his work is translated by Gallimard.
