Dame Julia Wendy Macur, DBE, born on April 17, 1957, is a prominent British judge currently serving as a Lady Justice of Appeal in the Court of Appeal of England and Wales. She has had a distinguished career, serving as the Senior Presiding Judge for England and Wales from April 2017 to December 2019. Macur studied law at the University of Sheffield and became a Queen's Counsel in 1998. She has played a critical role in judicial inquiries, notably reviewing the Waterhouse inquiry into the North Wales child abuse scandal.
