József V. Zelkó was a Hungarian military officer and collaborator, who commanded the 1st Hungarian Ski Battalion of the SS. As a notable skier, he was a champion in Hungary, Austria, and Europe in the 1930s. He served as an officer in the Hungarian army and rose to the rank of captain in 1939. During World War II, he joined the Waffen-SS and led the ski battalion, which was integrated into the 5th SS Panzer Division "Wiking". His fate following the war remains unknown.
