He contributed significantly to Hungarian literature and was recognized as a member of the Literary Section of the Hungarian Academy of Arts in 2005. Mács's works reflect the cultural and social issues of his time, and he played an important role in the literary scene of Slovakia. He passed away on August 31, 2017, in Pozsony.
