Józef Kowalski was a Polish brigadier general and pilot born on March 4, 1925, in Zygmuntów near Sochaczew. He served as the long-time commander of the Higher Officer Aviation School in Dęblin from 1963 to 1981. Additionally, he held the position of a deputy in the Polish People's Republic's Sejm during its seventh term from 1976 to 1980, and later served as the president of Polish Airlines LOT from 1981 to 1986. He passed away on October 13, 1993, in Warsaw.
