Jovan Gligorijević was a prominent veterinarian born on October 6, 1918, in Ajačo, Corsica, and passed away on January 23, 1982, in Belgrade. He graduated from the Veterinary Faculty in Belgrade in 1946 and earned his doctorate in Zagreb in 1948. In 1949, he founded a special Institute for X-ray and Physical Therapy and was instrumental in establishing the first laboratory for nuclear energy applications in agriculture and veterinary medicine. He became a full professor in 1962 and served as the rector of the University of Belgrade from 1971 to 1975.
