He was a three-time letter winner at Penn State and served as head coach at Norwich University and Gettysburg College. His coaching career spanned from 1964 to 1978, resulting in a record of 57 wins, 53 losses, and 1 tie. After his coaching tenure, he returned to Norwich as athletic director and continued in that role until the early 1990s. Joseph Sabol passed away on December 25, 1998.
