José Ramón Díaz de Durana Gutiérrez was a Spanish physician born on December 28, 1909, in Elorrieta, Deusto. He became the oldest doctor in Spain, graduating in 1934 at the age of 25 and practicing medicine for 40 years from 1937 until 1977. He spent most of his life in Arceniega, Álava. Durana passed away on March 26, 2017, at the age of 107, making him the longest-lived man in Euskadi at the time of his death and the oldest physician in all of Spain.
