José Miguel Contreras is a Spanish communication entrepreneur born in Madrid in 1958. He is a professor of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising. His professional career began in print media with El País and in radio with Radio 3 of RNE and Radio El País. He later transitioned to television, working with Canal+ and Telemadrid. In 1993, he founded GECA, the first marketing and television research company in Spain and Ibero-America. After merging with Globomedia and Promofilm, it formed Grupo Árbol. He served as CEO of laSexta from 2006 to 2012 and has been a non-executive director of Antena 3 since February 2013.
